biography

Born in Forbes in 1961, Kasey Sealy began painting in 1978 and turned professional in 1980.

Exhibiting since 1980, Kasey has been the recipient of many awards including the 1992 Camberwell Rotary Prize, 1991 Bega Caltex Award and 1991 Wyong Rotary.

Kasey has held four solo exhibitions in London and has been represented at major art shows in London such as "Olympia" where a record price for a major canvas was achieved in 2002.

Kasey regularly contributes articles to many Australian and international art magazines. He has been a regular lecturer at Charles Sturt University, Bathurst and tutors throughout Australia as well as being asked to judge numerous art shows.

He has studied and painted in many overseas countries including the UK, France, Italy and the USA, and still makes regular painting trips around Australia.

"My work is a direct influence of the impressionist style of painting with a direct hand eye co-ordination in front of the subject trying to capture the subtleties of mood light and atmosphere trying to avoid any formulation and sentimentality and cliché giving the viewer and individual visual experience ever time".

A book of paintings was published in 1993 as well as three educational videos. Kasey's paintings have been offered as major prizes on popular quiz shows "Sale of the Century" and "The Price is Right" on Channel Nine.
